Axa Investment Management has promoted Chris Iggo to the role of chief investment officer for what it calls “core investments” as part of a broad shake-up at the business.
The core investments division will cover the Framlington Equities business operated by Axa and the multi-asset business.
Mr Iggo, an economist by training, has been an Axa employee for fourteen years, most recently in the role of chief investment officer for fixed income.
Prior to joining Axa in 2005, he worked at Cazenove Capital, and prior to that as an economist at Barclays and Chase Manhattan Bank.
Marion Le Morhedec has assumed many of the responsibilities previously held by Mr Iggo. Her job title will be head of active fixed income Europe & Asia.
Serge Pizen, who manages a range of income funds at Axa, has been promoted to head of multi-asset, reporting to Mr Iggo.
He will continue to manage the funds.
Hans Stoter, Axa Investment Management's global head of core investments, said: “I am convinced that this new leadership team will result in increased collaboration, lead to better performance and engender a true transformation in the way we manage portfolios.
"We have tremendous strengths to build on, and we will leverage them to deliver the optimal outcome for our diverse client base.”
Axa Investment Management announced the restructure in June 2018, with the aim of simplifying the company’s management structure. The restructure has saved £89m of costs.
