Thank you to everyone who donated to FT Adviser's effort to join Insurance United Against Dementia's day of fundraising last week.
The Insurance Day for Dementia (November 30) saw insurance providers, brokers and advisers get together to raise vital funds for Alzheimer's Society.
FT Adviser joined in, setting up a Just Giving page and hosting a bake sale in the Financial Times canteen on the day.
Overall, we raised 425 per cent of our original £300 target. The grand total of online and offline donations from our cake sale was £1,275.
We are over the moon with the generosity of our readers and colleagues at the Financial Times.
Thank you all for taking the time to help raise awareness and funds to help Alzheimer's Society fight dementia.
And a big thank you to Zurich UK, which has pledged to match all donations for the Insurance Day for Dementia fundraising.
Peter Hamilton, head of market engagement at Zurich, said: "The support the FT Adviser team have provided for Insurance United Against Dementia has been sensational – articles, podcasts, posts topped off with a cake bake.
"They raised a huge amount of money themselves, but have tirelessly encouraged others to get involved. And of course the work doesn’t stop here.
"So many of us will be affected in one way or another by dementia, so if anyone else would like to talk about how best to engage with the work of IUAD, please talk to me at Zurich or to Rose St Louis at Scottish Widows."
