Eddie Grant, director of St James’s Place firm Technical Connection, will step down from his current role at the beginning of next year.
Grant, who joined the firm in March 2018 and has served as director ever since, will leave his position at the end of January.
"Eddie Grant recently decided to leave SJP and we thank him for his contribution during his seven years with the business,” an SJP spokesperson said.
Commenting on his departure, Grant told FT Adviser: “Being part of a brilliant team is very special and I have been incredibly humbled and immensely proud to lead SJP Technical Connection.
“Having joined seven years ago to integrate a small market leading business into the UK’s largest wealth manager, it now feels timely to embark on my next mission.
“Having spent the summer at the Paris Olympics, whilst on garden leave I am focusing on my passion for tea and have become a Tea Champion, working towards becoming a Tea Sommelier later this year, as well as training Alfie, our new miniature schnauzer puppy.”
Grant has had a successful career in the financial planning profession. He is a Chartered Financial Planner, Chartered Wealth Manager, Fellow of the PFS with a Masters focused on supporting clients with vulnerable circumstances.
He is also past president of the Personal Finance Society, serving six years on the PFS Board, past vice president of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Insurance Institute of London, as well as a previous chair of the TISA Tax Committee.
SJP announced that Grant’s role will be taken over by Alexandra Loydon who currently serves as director of partner engagement and consultancy.
“We are pleased to announce that Alexandra Loydon has now been appointed as Director of Advice Policy and Operations and her new role will also see her take on the day to day responsibility for Technical Connection,” the spokesperson added.
“Alexandra is due to start her new role from 1 January 2025.”
